ABSTRACT
A basic primer for mosquito control adulticiding operations. Subject matter includes a historic look at development of adulticiding theory and practice. Some misconceptions about the limitations and possibilities of the work itself are reviewed. The importance of planning and careful decision making processes; including proper planning and goal setting as a basis for a successful program are also discussed.
Technical aspects of the presentation deal with identification and its impact on control strategies, training, timing of applications. Also discussed the importance of maps and the use of other commonly available resources. Groups of basic calculations dealing with rates, coverage costs are explored. Additional topics involve droplet size and it's importance, labels, safety and efficacy.
